Sol Basconcillo
Born in Naples, Italy, Sol was raised in South Carolina, where he currently resides. He was often behind a camera at family gatherings, and eventually studied media arts in college. After graduating, he photographed our military throughout the southeastern USA. These days, Sol enjoys taking pictures of weddings, families, and travel adventures.
Sol's downtime usually involves the beach, music, movies, or at home dance parties with his wife, Josephine, and their children.
The Approach
Sol finds a sense of purpose in helping families tell their stories. His goal is to document moments truthfully and unobtrusively while a practicing a flexible approach- capturing authenticity and candor while directing only when necessary. A self proclaimed camera geek, Sol shoots with both film and digital formats.
Sol enjoys working with all people regardless of race, ethnic background, gender, religion, disability, or sexual orientation.
